Latest 3D Printed Medical Implants Companies Update

    • October 2023: The orthopedic implant manufacturer 4WEB Medical has obtained 510(k) approval to introduce its most recent implant products to the market. The solutions consist of two cervical interbody line extensions and the 3D printed Cervical Spine Truss System (CSTS) Integrated Plating Solution. For surgeon clients of 4WEB, the CSTS Integrated Plating Solution offers an additional option for stand-alone treatment. They have established substantial progress in achieving regulatory approval for the integrated plate and introducing two products in the third quarter, thereby consolidating the organization's entire cervical portfolio by the conclusion of the year. The CSTS Integrated Plating Solution clearance follows recent announcements from 4WEB, including the introduction of a second-generation cervical interbody fusion device in the third quarter of 2023 and a 3D printed non-integrated cervical plating solution.

    • March 2023: Invibio Biomaterial Solutions has introduced the Peek-Optima Am filament, an implantable polyetherketone polymer designed for 3D-printed medical devices, in March 2023. Peek-Optima Am filament is specifically engineered to fulfill the requirements of the expanding 3D-printed device industry. The introduction of Invibio's Peek-Optima Am filament assists medical device manufacturers in evaluating the fused deposition modeling/fused filament fabrication method of additive manufacturing. This aids in the development of the next generation of devices, which are designed to withstand a wide range of challenging medical applications. In order to facilitate the commercialization of the next generation of medical devices, an increasing number of medical device manufacturers and institutions must now select high-performance, high-quality biomaterials for 3D printing to be a viable option for developing implants and medical devices.
