US to get Benefits from Grid-Enhancing Technologies in 2024

By Shubhendra Anand , 14 February, 2025

Grids are an essential part of the renewable production process in the energy sector. It helps to transfer power to industries and homes. Grid-enhancing technologies (GETs) are an important solution to improve the transmission process. If renewable energy is not distributed over transmission, it may lead to overproduction. A survey in 2024 shows that grid-enhancing technologies can increase the efficiency of clean energy transition. Further, it can improve the capacity, reliability, and safety of previously existing transmission lines in the energy sector.

Grids-enhancing technologies are equally crucial alongside renewable energy generation. Advanced transmission technologies are necessary. Otherwise, it may lead to the mismanagement of renewable power. Experts cite that grid-enhancing technologies can minimize congestion costs. Further, it can enhance energy accumulating efficiency and facilitate faster transmission from grids to industries. The progress of the clean energy transition is changing the dynamics of the energy landscape. Developed nations are adopting green energy to promote sustainability.

Moreover, clean fuel can reduce carbon footprints in the environment. The United States is the foremost nation that is rapidly switching to renewables. Electrification in the transportation sector and industrial growth increased power consumption in the United States. Experts state that advancement in the tech sector is a significant factor driving energy consumption in the US. Therefore, the country plans to use grid-enhancing technologies to meet power demands. The new construction of transmission lines can drive significant investment. Hence, studies show that integrating GETs is an effective and faster way to fulfill the nation's power appetite in 2024.

GETs are the best way to increase the transmission capacity of the grids in 2024. It is the cheapest way over the new setup of transmission lines. Therefore, integrating GETs effectively in the energy sector tends to enhance the power delivery capacity in the United States. Further, it enhances the power lines for better, cost-effective transmission.
