    • Sep 2023: The stakes in price negotiations scheduled to start there next month have increased since dairy and packaged food giants Nestle and Danone depend on France for revenue as much as any other nation in Western Europe. Regarding supermarket sales, France has long surpassed other European Union countries, including Germany, Italy, and Spain. However, the French government is pushing back yearly price discussions between retailers and vendors to start by mid-October to secure price reductions by mid-January. Global consumer goods producers, including Nestle, Unilever, and Pepsico, have been accused of not "co-operating" by retailers.

    • Sep 2023: With assistance from its corporate venturing arm, Danone Manifesto Ventures, the world's largest dairy company, is moving forward with several relationships to strengthen and form new ones. First, Danone and Danish ingredients supplier Chr Hansen have a cooperative business development plan to promote innovation in dairy and plant-based products leveraging the latter's bioscience technologies. To enhance consumer health, they will concentrate on enhancing functionality. Danone will also contribute their 1800 ferment strains to advance gut microbiome studies. More generally, the 'Partner for Growth' program will concentrate on scientific and technological advancements in industries like agriculture, lowering supply chain costs by utilizing technology and reducing waste, making Danone's assets slicker and more flexible, and enhancing sustainability by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases in its supply chain.
