On June 19, 2023, Winbond Electronics Corporation, a leading supplier of semiconductor memory solutions, announced the 8Mb 3V NOR W25Q80RV. This new family of high-performance, small-form-factor serial flash devices with higher read performance addresses the requirement of connected edge devices used in industrial and consumer applications. This 8Mb density Serial Flash produced in Winbond's 12-inch wafer fabrication facility is manufactured using the latest generation of 58nm technology. It is significantly smaller than its predecessor, built using 90nm technology.


On May 04, 2022, Everspin announced the availability of an alternative to SPI NOR/NAND flash with up to 400MB/s R/W bandwidth. The EMxxLX xSPI MRAM (Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory) is a non-volatile memory solution for industrial IoT and embedded systems. It provides an alternative to SPI NOR/NAND flash with much faster R/W data rates of up to 400MB/s and densities between 8Mbit and 64Mbit.


On April 15, 2022, Infineon Technologies LLC, part of Infineon Technologies AG, announced the availability of the space industry's first radiation-hardened (rad-hard), serial interface Ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) for extreme environments. Infineon's industry-first space-qualified serial interface F-RAM provides 2 Mb density non-volatile storage for extreme environments. These new devices deliver unsurpassed reliability & data retention. They are more energy efficient than non-volatile EEPROM and serial NOR Flash devices for space applications.


On Feb.09, 2021, Alliance Memory announced the availability of Micron parallel and serial NOR flash products. Alliance Memory is an authorized reseller for additional legacy NOR flash devices from Micron Technology. Micron continues to produce M45PE serial NOR flash, the N25Q serial NOR flash, the J3 parallel NOR flash and the P30/P33 parallel NOR flash families. Micron intends to only supply Alliance Memory for any new orders placed through mid-2021.
