On Oct. 21, 2023, Niqo Robotics, an Agritech start-up, announced its plans to bring one lakh acres under spot spraying this year. Niqo offers agrochemical spraying as a service to farmers, and it has taken up the spraying of the cotton crop grown in the Akola region of Maharashtra and bordering Madhya Pradesh this kharif season. The company has deployed a fleet of 50 spot-spraying machines that leverage AI-assisted computer vision for targeted spraying of chemicals.
