    Five powder coating manufacturing facilities in the United States and Latin America will receive an upgrade thanks to a $44 million investment announced by PPG. The projects are a part of PPG's strategic objectives to boost worldwide production and broaden its powder coatings capabilities in response to increased consumer demand for solutions with sustainable advantages.


    The $30 million invested in U.S. plants and the $14 million invested in facilities in Latin America are expected to increase overall capacity, add the ability to produce bonded metallic powders, speed up processing times with automated packaging, and improve the capacity to produce small, medium, and large batches.  


    Major players in the coating pretreatment market, including 3M Company, Kansai Paint Co. Ltd., Nihon Parkerizing Co. Ltd., Chemetall GmbH, AkzoNobel N.V., Axalata Coating System LLC, PPG Industries, Henkel AG & Co. KGgA, Sherwin-Williams Company, and others, are attempting to increase market demand by investing in research and development operations.
