Top Industry Leaders in the Passenger to Freighter Market

    Passenger to Freighter Companies

November 2023- AerCap, an aircraft leasing company, has provided IndiGo with its inaugural Airbus A321 Passenger-to-Freighter aircraft. The conversion of the aircraft was carried out by Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) and then delivered to IndiGo at ST Engineering Aerospace in Singapore. The A321P2F is an outstanding narrowbody cargo aircraft option that excels in fuel efficiency and adaptability, catering to the increasing needs of cargo operators.

August 2023- Boeing and the engineering division of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), a plane leasing company, have made an agreement to establish a new freighter conversion line in Jordan, which will bring the service closer to customers in North Africa, the Middle East, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Joramco, a commercial aircraft MRO subsidiary of DAE based in Amman, will be responsible for converting Boeing 737-800 passenger planes into freighters and providing this service to both domestic and foreign airlines. Despite the cyclical nature of the sector, Boeing anticipates a continued strong demand for dedicated cargo freighters due to the growth of e-commerce and the development of supply chain networks.

March 2023- GMR Aero Technic has partnered with Boeing to establish a new Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) line in Hyderabad, which will be India's first facility for converting passenger aircraft into freighters. This collaboration comes in response to the increased demand for cargo transportation in India due to the Covid pandemic, as well as the global trend. GMR Aero Technic will be equipped to handle conversions of both domestic and international aircraft, further strengthening Boeing's commitment to supporting cargo growth and expanding aircraft modification capabilities and MRO services in India. This initiative aligns with India's goal of becoming a prominent aviation and aerospace hub in the region.
