New Google Search Features to Aid IEA Data on Heating Systems and Electric Vehicles

By Shubhendra Anand , 20 November, 2023

The clean energy transition worldwide is shifting the focus from conventional vehicles to electric vehicles and heat pumps in 2023. Global energy transition highlights the advantage of electric vehicles compared to conventional fuel-based cars. The same applies to traditional heat pumps and their alternatives, like electric heating systems.

Based on data released by the International Energy Agency (IEA), Google has launched two new search options to help consumers make good decisions regarding the energy sector in their everyday lives. IEA's new initiative will aid customers in making informed decisions, as there are multiple options in the marketplace. International Energy Agency (IEA) officials say that clean energy technologies help to make sustainable choices along with cost-effective ones ranging from vehicles to home heating. Inflation drives the cost of living in many developed and developing economies worldwide. Therefore, consumers must be well informed regarding assets to make smart financial decisions that will also aid the environment.Google's new features for search are of two types- the first is a fuel calculator, and the last one allows Google to compare home heating appliances across their cost, longevity, and energy efficiency. Firstly, the fuel cost calculator estimates annual expenditure from electric and other conventional vehicles based on energy consumed. The second feature helps consumers to select home heating systems by comparing their energy efficiency, cost, and many other factors. As the clean energy transition focuses on minimizing greenhouse emissions, the electrification of vehicles and heat pumps helps achieve the targets. Countries worldwide have clean energy transition goals to achieve by 2050, and electric vehicles and heat pumps will help drive the globe towards achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
