AI Claims To Detects Diabetes In Humans
By Shubhendra Anand , 21 June, 2024
Artificial intelligence can bring innovations to the medical sector in 2024. The new technology is dynamic and pivotal in its characteristics to provide better results. Hence, in the era of artificial intelligence, it is easier to extract benefits by deploying them in the workplace. It is easier to find analytical solutions with the help of artificial intelligence. However, implementing those solutions practically can enhance the quality of work. For a long time, artificial intelligence has been used to develop the finest solutions for cancer detection. Hence, new research shows that artificial intelligence can diagnose type 1 diabetes from the patient's voice.
According to research on cancer detection with the help of artificial intelligence, researchers developed a tool to diagnose type 2 diabetes in humans. Data from the experiment with the same tool gives an accuracy of about 0.89. Moreover, this tool can be used by both men and women. It has been developed to detect diabetes in the person by using the voice itself. The human body mass index and its respective age are crucial factors considered as the data for cancer detection tools. Scientifically, the tool finds pitch in women for cancer detection. For men, changes in amplitude and strength are the diagnosing factors. Cancer detection tools can consider changes in pitch and intensity that a human ear perceives. Thus, artificial intelligence can calculate the deviation from the usual voice of humans to diagnose cancer.
Researchers inform that people with untreated type 2 diabetes develop certain hoarseness in the voice. This creates strain on the human's vocal cords; hence, it gets detected by artificial intelligence. Therefore, artificial intelligence can help detect cancer, leading to advancements in the medical field.
