Healthcare and Wellness: A Critical Area for Avocado Oil companies to Develop

April 2021

If you love avocados, which you probably do because they're delicious and good for you, then you should be using their oil for cooking. Avocado oil is prized not only because it can impart a buttery flavor to your dishes that is reminiscent of the fruit itself, but also because it contains healthy monounsaturated fats. It's a versatile ingredient that can be used in place of any other cooking oil so long as your recipe doesn't call for something more specific

The avocado oil market is an industry in which demand fluctuates according to the price of each individual product. It is important to analyze what drives this type of demand in order to create a balanced understanding of the industry. As with all markets, it is driven by supply and demand factors such as availability, price, quality, proximity, safety etc. It is important to look at the demand side in order to understand which factors affect this demand. This is especially true in the Avocado oil market considering that it is such a volatile market and therefore difficult to predict.

As previously mentioned, the Avocado Oil Industry is an industry driven by demand. The three main factors affecting this demand are: price, quality, and proximity.  The price of these goods generally depends on the seasonality of products and what it was last year. For example, prices are low when it is harvest season and when there has been a good year for production. Local prices fluctuate depending on how close an area is to where it was produced or what shipping costs were involved.

For example, an avocado oil producer in South America can sell their goods for a cheaper price than an avocado oil producer also in South America. Similarly, an avocado oil producer in New York would have to charge a much higher price than one from California or Mexico. The quality of the product also affects the demand side considering that consumers will not be willing to pay as much for low quality products. For example, some products are bitter when they are green because of a chemical reaction. These will need to be refined through other processes to make them edible and palatable so consumers will not be willing to purchase such goods at full market value.

Avocado oil has been gaining popularity recently in the health and wellness industry. The market for this product is still relatively small, given that avocado oil only makes up 0.007% of total edible oils and fats consumed in the US diet. However, many people are using it as an alternative to more traditional oils such as olive and canola oil. In 2017 alone, avocado oil consumption increased by 27% on a year-over-year basis, with revenue growing by nearly 2 billion dollars as well.

Avocado oil is made up of monounsaturated fats, such as oleic acid and palmitic acid, that greatly improves oral health. However, the major difference between avocado oil and olive oil is that avocado primarily contains monounsaturated oleic acid (which has 20 carbons), whereas olive oil primarily contains saturated canola fat (which has 14 carbons). This means that avocado oil is more stable than olive oil and has a much higher melting point, making it a good substitute for most cooking.

Currently, the most popular uses of avocado oil are in baking, cooking, and wellness items such as body lotion and facial moisturizers. Studies have shown that avocado oil is effective in reducing systemic inflammation, which can reduce risk factors associated with heart disease, including high blood pressure. Additionally, avocado oil has some antioxidant properties that can be beneficial to your diet.

Most people don’t think of their diet as an important factor in reducing systemic inflammation and improving their immune system. However, adding fruit and vegetables to your diet is one of the best ways to improve your health and reduce the risk of a wide variety of diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and stroke. Eating a varied diet rich in fruits and vegetables is healthier than taking supplements or drugs prescribed by your doctor.
