  • September 2022:ย Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology, revealed further advancements in the development of the world's first spectral detector angio CT solution, the Philips Spectral Angio CT suite*, which incorporates the company's groundbreaking spectral CT imaging technology into an integrated hybrid angio CT suite. Philips aims to give physicians immediate access to these two key imaging modalities in a single room by combining its award-winning [1] Spectral CT 7500 system and its Image Guided Therapy System - Azurion with FlexArm - in a fully integrated interventional suite solution, enabling innovation in minimally-invasive procedures in areas such as oncology, stroke, and trauma care. Philips introduced a new clinical partner and emphasized clinical research focusing on the additional benefit of employing spectral CT imaging technology during interventional procedures.
  • June 2023: MARS Bioimaging, located in New Zealand, has partnered with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) to advance musculoskeletal imaging and diagnostics. The collaboration is built around MARS' photon-counting spectral CT imaging technique. Through the HSS Innovation Institute, MARS and HSS will collaborate to analyze certain elements of the MARS 5120 Extremity Scanner as well as the possible creation of new scanning methods and technologies. The MARS 5120 Extremity scanner was created utilizing MediPix3 detector technology, which was created as part of ongoing particle physics research at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN). Previously, MARS used this technique to create the world's first commercial (2010) photon-counting 3D color X-ray. It enabled the generation of high-contrast pictures of bone detail and the assessment of bone density at a fracture site while using substantially less radiation than standard CT.
