    November 2023- Supply chain solutions provider Blue Yonderclosed its previously announced acquisition of Doddle, a technology business focused on first- and last-mile logistics. With the acquisition, Blue Yonder will add new capabilities to its logistics suite designed to enhance end-to-end supply chains, the company said in a Monday (Nov. 13) press release. Doddle powers the sites of more than 900 merchants worldwide, working with retail and logistics customers to optimize and simplify their first and last mile and meet the challenge of consumer returns, according to the release. The firm's logistics management offerings will be integrated into Blue Yonder's suite of commerce and returns capabilities, which already include warehouse management, transportation management, and order management, the release said. The acquisition also creates new opportunities for Blue Yonder to harness data that can improve both the end-to-end product lifecycle and the supply chain, Speer added.

    November 2023- Amazon invested more than 1.2 trillion yen (USD billion) in Japan last year, up 20% over the previous year, the company's local arm said Tuesday, in a push to expand its logistics network and data centers. Amazon Japan opened large fulfillment centers in Hyogo prefecture, near Osaka, as well as Kanagawa and Saitama prefectures, near Tokyo, in 2022. Eighteen delivery stations, which handle last-mile deliveries to customers, were also built. From 2010 to 2022, the company's investments reached over 6 trillion yen. More than 7 million items can now be delivered the next day for most of the country outside the northernmost main island of Hokkaido, and areas eligible for contactless delivery have also expanded. Two more fulfillment centers and 11 delivery stations are being built this year. Amazon Japan had 12,000 directly hired employees in 2022, 1,000 more than the previous year.

    April 2020- FedEx and BigCommerce worked together to give access to online sales, connectivity, and delivery for small and medium-sized enterprises. Customers may now effortlessly and economically use FedEx shipping services on the company's current platform.
