September 2023- Aircraft engineers at Northrop Grumman Corp. have been tasked with carrying out a significant upgrade to the cockpit avionics systems of the U.S. Navy's E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft, as part of a contract worth almost half a billion dollars. The E-2D Group 2 Plus variant of the carrier-based airborne early warning and control plane has enhanced avionics including GPS satellite navigation integrated into its weapons system. It also comes with an improved mission computer and engines, compared to prior versions of the E-2D. When matched against the preceding E-2C model, the E-2D boasts a new radar with mechanical and electronic scanning functionalities; glass cockpit displays; a sophisticated identification friend or foe (IFF) suite.
August 2023- Boeing is in the final stages of negotiating the sale of 24 F-15EX advanced fighter jets to the Republic of Indonesia. According to officials, this cutting-edge fighter will help defend and protect our country thanks to its sophisticated capabilities. The twin-engine F-15EX made by Boeing will be one of the most technologically advanced aircraft flown by Indonesia so far. The jet, which originates from St. Louis, will have digital fly-by-wire flight control systems. Featuring new electronic warfare capabilities, a fully digital glass cockpit, and the most up-to-date mission software, the F-15EX will be designated the new F-15IDN for Indonesia.
August 2023- The Indonesian government and the American aviation company Boeing signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 24 F-15EX fighter jets, which are 4.5-generation aircraft, at Boeing's office in Missouri, USA. The F-15EX is the most modern version of F-15 jets that Boeing has ever made. The F-15EX fighter planes have many advanced features, including digital fly-by-wire flight controls, a new electronic warfare system, digital glass cockpit, and the most up-to-date mission software capabilities.
