October 2023 - Crown Holdings has completed its acquisition of Helvetia Packaging, a German-based manufacturing facility that produces beverage cans and ends in Saarlouis. The transaction includes Helvetia's existing customer base, associated contracts and approximately 200 employees. By adding this facility to its network, Crown will further expand its European beverage can platform in Germany and increase capacity by approximately one billion units per year to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions in the region.

Eviosys launched Ecopeel worldwide in January 2023. Eviosys has created an industry first after over two decades worth of knowledge; it is a processable food can with a foil directly sealed on the can body which can be peeled off easily. Ecopeel was designed keeping sustainability, convenience as well as inclusivity in mind: lighter than current ring-pull containers while also cutting down carbon emissions by twenty percent per unit produced through substitution with aluminium foil.
