    Latest Lymphedema Treatment Companies Update

    • October 2023: Koya Medical, a healthcare organization dedicated to revolutionizing venous and lymphatic care via an all-encompassing collection of cutting-edge, patient-focused platforms, has introduced its Dayspring® active compression system for the treatment of lymphedema and venous disorders in the lower extremities into the marketplace in the United States. Additionally, the organization disclosed that the CMS had assigned three additional billing codes for the Dayspring active compression system, in accordance with the HCPCS.  Dayspring is the first active dynamic compression treatment that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) without the use of pneumatics. It is wearable and is tailored specifically for the mobility of the patient. Dayspring enables patients to maintain their daily activities while undergoing treatment, in contrast to existing pneumatic (air-based) compression compressors that necessitate patient immobility and device plug-in to an outlet.

    • April 2023: AIROS® Medical, Inc., a manufacturer and designer of medical technology specializing in compression therapy devices for the treatment of lymphedema and venous complications, announced in April 2023 that it has been granted 510(k) clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to commercialize the AIROS 8P Sequential Compression Therapy garment system and device. In order to treat abdominal edema, the authorization also permits AIROS to offer larger compression therapy garments, such as lower truncal garments. By introducing the AIROS 8P pneumatic compression device and a new line of truncal garments, AIROS Medical will be able to treat a greater number of these patients. The pants-like construction of the truncal garment makes it an ideal garment for individuals afflicted with lymphedema affecting the lower thighs, back, abdomen, pelvis, and hips.
