    Latest Company Updates:

    March 2023

USA-based Cryomech, a pioneer in cryocooler technology and manufacturing, was acquired by Bluefors, a leading Finnish maker of cryogenic measurement systems.

After the acquisition was finalised, Bluefors expanded to include about 600 staff members and cryogenics specialists in Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the USA. With almost one-third of its staff situated in the state of New York, the acquisition greatly enhanced Bluefors' direct presence in the USA. As a result, Bluefors plays a significant role in the US-based supply chain for cryogenic items used in basic physics research, quantum technology, and other niche industries, while simultaneously enhancing the Cryomech portfolio's visibility in Europe.

The SHI Cryogenics Group's range of Gifford-McMahon (GM) cryocoolers now features a new model, the CH-160D2 77K Cryocooler. Liquid nitrogen manufacturing and liquefaction, as well as applications requiring high-temperature superconductivity, such as cables, wind turbines, ship motors, and accelerator magnets, are among the many applications for which the CH-160D2 is ideal.

Clean energy technologies, high-temperature superconducting applications such as cables, fault current limiters, wind turbines, ship motors, and accelerator magnets are just a few of the applications for which the CH-160D2 is perfect.

The CH-160D2 operates with two (2) F-70 compressors or one (1) F-100 compressor at a slightly decreased capacity and complies with RoHS and CE regulations.  Both compressors are three-phase, water-cooled, indoor devices that come in high and low voltage variations.  All Freedom® series compressors use incredibly dependable scroll compressor capsules, have a market-leading 30,000-hour maintenance interval, and are made specifically to supply cryogenic refrigerators with high-pressure, oil-free helium.
