At In-cos Global in Barcelona, Omya highlighted its waterless, ecological, and eco-friendly solutions. Mineral components for skin and oral care products as well as natural colours for ornamental formulations will be added by the company to the portfolio that will be on display.

It can be difficult technically to create a water-free or even water-reduced personal and dental care product. The Omya R&D team has created mineral-based anhydrous formulations, including the hydroxyapatite and calcium carbonate particles found in Omyaskin and Omyadent.  

The natural ingredient solution Cosmospheres, which concentrates active ingredients and guarantees their release during application, will also be on display. According to Omya, the cellulose beads are appropriate for many formulations of personal care products and may help keep liquid or powdered active ingredients contained in goods made with water.

The enlarged Cosmospheres keep their spherical shape for the duration of the product's shelf life; when applied, light friction causes the spheres to break and release their contents without leaving any residue.
