    A legally binding agreement has been signed by Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group BV (SMRPBV), a step-down subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), to acquire Vinci Energies France's entire stake in CIRMA Entreprise, a French société par actions simplifiée.


    To diversify SMRPBV's portfolio of Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for the aerospace, shipbuilding, and associated industries, among other industries, this acquisition was made.


    With this deal, Motherson will move up to Tier 1 status with the aerospace OEM and its close closeness to the OEM will create further opportunities for growth. It will also be possible to expand beyond an existing portfolio of aero structural components, machining, etc. to Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for Aerospace, shipbuilding, and other related Industries.


    This deal will assist the Group in gaining access to the shipbuilding and related industries and is in line with Motherson's current wire harness capabilities and expansion strategy.

    Sumitomo, a Japanese and Egyptian company, has begun work on a $100 million auto electrical wiring facility. The new Sumitomo Electric Egypt factory will be built on a 150,000-square-metre square meter plot of land. A research center and a center for technical education training are also being built as part of the overall project.


    One million electric wiring harnesses for automobiles will be produced annually in the factory's initial phase, with all products being exported. The factory wants to export all of its products.


    One of the main producers in Egypt is the Japanese behemoth Sumitomo. Eight of its plants are located in Port Said, and six are located in the cities of October 6 and Ramadan 10.
