    June 2023:

The bag-on-bike airbag will be the initial motorcycle safety product introduced by Autoliv in the first quarter of 2025. Production will commence for this item. In frontal collisions, the bag-on-bike airbag can substantially reduce the risk of serious injury for motorcyclists of powered two-wheelers. The proliferation of powered two-wheelers and their increased utility are contributing factors to the ongoing increase in their number. Presently, an increasing number of motorcycles and scooters feature sophisticated safety systems, including ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) and ABS (Antilock Braking System); the incorporation of airbags will be an additional advancement in this trend. Powered two-wheeler passengers have not reaped the same benefits from the numerous advancements in vehicle safety as do car occupants. Two sets of solutions have been developed as a consequence of Autoliv's exhaustive research into powered two-wheeler cycling behavior and collisions: on-vehicle safety solutions and on-rider safety solutions.
