Q3 2026: Saab (SE): Saab announced on August 25, 2026, that its Seaeye SR20 all-electric work-class ROV completed inland-water trials, validating manoeuvrability, pilot control, stability, and electric-system performance before the programme advances toward further testing and planned operational deployment.
Q3 2026: KONGSBERG (NO): Kongsberg Discovery launched the HISAS2020 synthetic aperture sonar on February 26, 2026, making the technology available for ROVs and other subsea platforms and providing centimetre-level underwater imaging with real-time processing for defence, energy, and ocean-science applications.
Q2 2026: DeepOcean (NO): DeepOcean completed its first subsea intervention with offshore operational leadership managed from an onshore remote operating centre on May 6, 2026, using a work-class ROV and remote management to reduce offshore personnel requirements and advance remote subsea operations
Q2 2026: Oceaneering International, Inc (US): Oceaneering completed its first onshore-piloted ROV operation from Brazil on April 20, 2026, remotely controlling an offshore drilling-rig ROV from its Macaé remote operations center, demonstrating expanded remote subsea capabilities for offshore activities.
August 2025: Oceaneering announced $180 Million of Subsea Robotics Contracts with Petrobras. Oceaneering will provide work class remotely operated vehicle (“ROV”) services, specialized tooling packages, and survey services onboard multiple anchor handling and ROV support vessels working on Petrobras projects offshore Brazil.
September 2023: Oceaneering International announces at Offshore Europe that its Subsea Robotics group is introducing a new Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) service to support remote survey work scopes. Oceaneering has reached an agreement with Exail to purchase its first DriX USV. The DriX USV will enable Oceaneering to improve operational efficiencies, reduce vessel time, and significantly lower carbon emissions for deepwater geophysical, asset inspection, and offshore/nearshore survey operations.
