  March 2023: Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDO) for small molecules AGC Pharma Chemicals has become a new partner for medicine developer CatSci Ltd. For the development of their new therapeutics, AGC says its clients can leverage Wales-based CatSci's experience in chemical and analytical development, crystallization and solid form, pre-formulation, as well as high potency active pharmaceutic ingredients (API) and chemistry manufacturing and controls (CMC). CatSci assists global clients who are developing economically and ecologically at every level of medication development, as well as pharmaceutical innovators at every stage of drug development.

  May 2023: Construction of a new $315 million facility at Boehringer Ingelheim's German headquarters, which will manufacture medications for clinical trials and active pharmaceutical components, began in May 2023. The Chemical Innovation Plant at Boehringer's headquarters in Ingelheim, Germany, is scheduled to open for business in 2026. The pharmaceutical company wants to ensure long-term capability for producing novel chemical entities, and this facility is part of that effort. Small molecules and biopharmaceuticals make up around half of Boehringer's research portfolio. Between the company's smaller pilot facilities and the commercial production of APIs for marketed goods in Ingelheim, Boehringer's new factory will close a manufacturing gap.
